Man Struck, Killed On Busy CT Roadway

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on a busy Connecticut roadway.

The crash occurred in New Haven County around 10 a.m., Saturday, May 11, at 836 East Main St., in Waterbury.

According to Lt. Ryan Bessette of the Waterbury Police, the man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The motor vehicle driver remained on the scene and was not injured. 

Bessette said that the pedestrian had been identified as an adult male.

The man has not been identified by police pending notification of his family. 

This accident is under investigation by the Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU).
